Sunny Chen, born in Guangzhou in 1969, graduated from Architecture
Department of Shenzhen University with a Bachelor degree in
1992. He founded several creative design companies in Guangzhou,
Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai during the ten years after graduation.
In 1999, Sunny Chen founded MADA s.p.a.m. with Mr. Qingyun Ma. He
is responsible for the operation and administration of the company. His
executive in designing plays a crucial role in most of the main cities’
urban planning projects.
Sunny Chen is not only good at business management, but also
participated in the edition of many books such as MADA spam on Site,
MADA in Model, Urban Reconstruction, Hundreds Island Park, Urban
Regeneration, Dialogue (Biennale Series), Shenzhen Investigation etc.
In 2007, Sunny Chen presented as the co-curator of 2007 Shenzhen.
Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale, being responsible for the overall project implementation
and planning. Apart from that, he demonstrates his talents
in planning and organization in such activates as MADA spam on Site
European Tour Exhibition in 2004, MADA Model in China eight Colleges’
Tour Exhibition in 2007, 10 Years of Xi’an Contemporary Art Exhibition
in 2008, Internal Force Contemporary Women Artists Exhibition in 2009,
China-Korea Art Exchange Exhibition, Textile City recycling . Artists
of Textile City Exhibition, MADA Drawings . 10 Years of Qingyun Ma’s
drawings and so on. In 2010, together with Qingyun Ma, he planned
the program Paris artists in Lantian and “in the field of hope” the artists
painting event.
